Election of The Hill School Alumni Trustees

Two alumni are elected annually to The Hill School Board of Trustees. In accordance with the provisions of The Hill School Alumni Association By-Laws, candidates are selected by the Board’s Governance Committee and elected by the alumni body to serve five-year terms commencing on July 1, 2018.

This year, the Alumni Trustee candidates are Mr. Jason W. Ingle '93 and Mr. John L. Keffer '76. Biographical information about each candidate and a ballot are available below for your use. To be counted, your ballot must be received by the School by Friday, June 8, 2018 at 5 p.m.

  Jason W. Ingle '93

Jason W. Ingle '93 joined the Board of Trustees in 2013. He is a member of the Advancement, Hobart's Run, and Student Life, Health & Wellness Committees. Jason co-founded and is managing partner for Closed Loop Capital, an early-stage venture capital platform investing in exceptional entrepreneurs leading ventures in agriculture technology and food system innovation within the United States and Canada. Closed Loop Capital leverages a wide-angle lens perspective, from field to consumer, to identify, invest, assist, and advance leading edge companies along critical points of the food system. Mr. Ingle is also a co-founder of The ImPact, a membership network of family enterprises (family offices, foundations, and businesses) that are committed to making investments with measurable social impact. Mr. Ingle is also the founder of Greener Partners, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with a mission of connecting communities to healthy food, vibrant farms, and hands-on education experiences. He is a recognized industry leader and frequent presenter on topics including impact investing, food system innovation, strategic philanthropy, and effective board governance. He has been invited to the White House twice to highlight his work to improve the food system, including by Michelle Obama for his work as co-founder of Greener Partners, and by the President to recognize Closed Loop Capital’s leadership as an investor in women and minority-led entrepreneurial businesses. Mr. Ingle has also presented two TEDx talks: Why Not Fix Our Food System, and Uprooting School Gardens in the Age of Mobility, both presenting unique approaches to address the challenges of our food system. Mr. Ingle, his wife Sarah, and their five children reside outside Philadelphia, Pa.

John L. Keffer '76

John L. Keffer '76 was elected as a member of the Board of Trustees in 2017. He is a member of the Audit, Finance-Budget, and Legal Committees. Mr. Keffer is Associate General Counsel of Baker Hughes, a GE company, where he leads the Mergers & Acquisitions legal function at BHGE. Prior to joining GE in 2014, Mr. Keffer was a senior partner of the law firm of King & Spalding. During his 16 years with the firm, he led the firm’s Latin American practice, founded its London office and was its managing partner, and served on the firm’s Policy Committee. He began his legal career and was a partner at Bracewell, a Houston, Texas-based law firm. Mr. Keffer’s legal practice is concentrated in multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions and strategic joint ventures. He is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he earned a B.S. in international politics from the Foreign Service School, and Southern Methodist School of Law, where he received a J.D. Mr. Keffer and his wife, Debbie, live in London, England, and have two sons.
